The Waterfall’s Encore

I would loathe to be a waterfall

shed constant tears or’r  worries wall

A heart of sadness would entail

a final curtain call

But I’d sit on top a streaming run

in early morn ‘fore day’s begun

to feel the soothing water flow

awaiting for the sun

Each day that passes I’d proudly stand

to watch the torrent, water fanned

and listen as it plays the tune

of nature’s gift well planned

But to live beneath the fountain’s pour

unbroken moments of encore

inhale the mist of motioned life

I’d want for nothing more

To Plant Again

A meager end of one’s desires

Helpless, falls within the fires

Softly heard the silent pleas

For targets reached with greater ease.

Bemoan the loss of relinquished goals

That lay defeated upon the coals

As sparks take flight and seconds clash

They cruelly wither and turn to ash.

Rising yet above the flame

Release of who or what to blame

To plant again a seed accrued

From hopes of life and dreams renewed.

Daily Prompt: Release

The Sound of Muses

My Art 020

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens

hundreds to choose from in worlds that were written

years ago back when this sketch was created

these were the titles I most celebrated

When the night comes

when the day hums

when I reminisce

I simply remember my favorite books

the ones I could not resist

Fear of Change

images-1

Why, birds, must you be angry?

your cawing, dawning, cries

on forceful wings

with hope of spring

your ire, it mystifies

Perhaps it is your season call

a changing time, alerting

so others heed

your time of need

through winter, disconcerting

Lay still your ruffled feathers

each change is not by choice

and yet you can

as you began

make known your thoughts in voice.

Launch

My brain is prime for the rhyme these days. So when I saw the daily word prompt was launch? Egads!

If you are expecting me to say “paunch,” well, see yesterday’s poem post – Hand Over That Fry!

And yes, I’m a staunch supporter of the Try-New-Things-Club.

Therefore, let’s talk about the conch shell?

Pretty, aren’t they?

What? You Americans say it’s pronounced with a “k” sound at the end?

Yeah, well apparently Britains pronounce it so it rhymes with the daily word prompt.

So there!

Seriously, who wouldn’t want to write something poetic about the conch shell and its beauty?

Because when I launch my ear up to a conch,

I hear the World of Sea

Hand over that Fry!

funny-fat-monkey-445x355

I’d give it all for pecan pie

 Or enchiladas! Beans!

A cookbook only makes me sigh

(Damn pictures of cuisine!)

The pot is missing taters

the pizza’s missing crust

How ’bout a cookie later?

Is dieting a must?

The Fridgidaire is fortified

the bakers ovens, quiet

I’d give a leg for something fried

and a different way to diet!

She “took a knee” and …

Unknown-1

I once knew a girl named Strict Janet

the Moonshine Still, she ran it

one sip of her “tea”

at once took a knee

and she kicked me off the “free” planet

Dammit!
