Raphael (Raffaello Sanzio), was born on this day in 1483. This painting, La Fornarina, was of of his mistress, Margherita Luti. Raphael’s premature death was said to have been caused by excessive sex with Margherita the night before. Hmm…

Yesterday, April 3rd, 1968, Martin Luther King Jr. gave his last sermons in Memphis.
“We’ve got some difficult days ahead. But it really doesn’t matter with me now, because I’ve been to the mountaintop…And He’s allowed me to go up to the mountain. And I’ve looked over, and I’ve seen the Promised Land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight that we, as a people, will get to the promised land.”
On this day, April 4th, he was assassinated.
God Bless You, Dr. King.

Another fabulous photo taken by my friend, David Stalker.

How can something so small be so beautiful? (A friend of mine took these amazing photos.)
As I sit here researching human rights, including the treatment of immigrants, the poor, the oppressed, I am reminded of my spirituality and the religions that are based on LOVE. One Christian song goes like this:
Jesus loves the little children
All the children of the world
Red and yellow, black and white
They are precious in his sight
Jesus loves the little children of the world.
If you are a Christian, do you believe the meaning of these words?
If you are not a Christian, what religion of love do you worship and celebrate?
I know there are many and, for that, I am grateful.
With love,
Carolyn
